So the guy I’ve been talking to was MIA for a few days, he’s had a lot going on recently. This is what he messaged me.

“Hey sorry I've been dead the last few days. I wanted to let you know that Im not looking for any relationship atm im really sorry, my thoughts about you haven't changed but the last relationship I was in straight up fucked me, so im just trying to focus on myself and hopefully fix myself a little. Im really sorry if I’ve been leading you on Ima cunt for it and u got every right to hate me but I do hope we stay in contact cause we have a mad vibe that im not tryna get rid of. Im sorry again , I hope you understand” I understand this and sympathise but am unsure if I should be sticking around or just cut contact. I would be fine with being his friend. Due to his life circumstances I do think it’s necessary for him to heal and be by himself.

i just want some opinions on

1) how to interpret the message properly 2) what I should do- stay/go

1) He's not ready for a relationship and wants you around=He wants your attention and affection and maybe even sex if you allow it but you ain't getting no commitment in return, you're his hoe basically.

2) go, leave because in the long run and in the end you'll get hurt, what then? I mean right now you're emotional and shit, what happens if you actually get heartbroken over a dude who clearly told you he wants no relationship with you and literally stated he has been and will be leading you on.. It's a nice message but don't be dumb okay?

His apology seems sincere. You could hang around and be in his orbit but he's pretty honest, don't expect much. If I were you, I'd keep his number and cut contact with him. Wait several months and then if you're still single and interested message him back and see where his head is at.
