Is this guy flirting or just being a friend?

Okay so … this guy is a work collegue, he has said things to me like … do you walk your dog? When he has seen me walking my dog, then proceeded to say well what I mean is does your man walk your dog? When i mentioned I liked to wear perfume he said “I bet your man likes that” other things like when i said to him after coming back from a holiday I was broke he mentioned somewhere our staff could get discount, I told him I didn’t know and that he should of told me , he replied “ I should of called you” even though we have never exchanged numbers. So recently I have been moved out of the department I work in, to the department next door, he said to me that when he goes to the store (I always bump into him in) that he looks out for me. When I said I have moved areas and I was a bit teary in doing so he told me to fight for it as I was fragile at the moment, then after we had spoken my last work collegue said he asked her if she thought I’d ever get back in the department. So the lady who has taken my place also said that he was speaking to her and said that he thought it was bad what they have done to me, she replied “well I’m here now” and he didn’t answer her. I’m not sure if this guy is just looking out for me as a friend or if there’s something more to it. As I think a lot of him … but often feel a little confused. Please help

In your first examples he was trying to find out if you were single or not, this is a strong sign that he's interested in you

Okay can I ask what you think about him saying he looks out for me at the supermarket?

It's another indication he's interested in you and wants to spend more time with you. Maybe he's shy or is worried because you work together and is still gathering the will to ask you out, but it'll probably happen soon from what you're saying unless you're not interested and don't give him hope
