Guys, I got drunk at our office party and made out with a coworker. Do you think he will tell others about it?

He works in another country and was just in town for this party. I knew him from monthly meetings, but otherwise we don't interact much at work. I got very, very drunk. It got late, and somehow we managed to lose the rest of our coworkers while walking from one bar to the next. I don't feel safe taking Ubers or Taxis late at night by myself anymore after an unpleasant experience, much less so being extremely drunk.

He offered that I could take a nap in his hotel room and go home in the morning. When we got to the room he suggested we cuddle a bit, and for some reason I said yes. He told me "I'm married, so don't expect anything" and honestly if I hadn't been so drunk, I never would have ended up there in the first place. Nothing much happened, a bit of kissing and fumbling as neither of us had condoms on us. I fell asleep at some point, but he did wake me up in the morning, thankfully.

I wish I could rewind the clock but I can't. My main worry now (aside of the moral hangover) is that he will tell people at work about it. Do you think he would? Would you, if you were him? I kind of feel he has no way to talk about it without looking bad himself, but what do I know...

This stuff happens. The idea of a workplace where romance has no place is just weird and unrealistic. When people work together, things can happen. There's no shame in it, apart from him cheating on his wife, but that's hardly your fault.

thanks for your answer! I do feel guilty, at the same time you are right, I'm single and he's the one with the wife, and I was also definitely not the one to initiate anything. That's a good point, I guess it's probably more common place than I realize. Just never did it myself, and only heard about the longer lasting affairs. But I guess for a one-off thing like this, you probably wouldn't know about it.

Thank you, that's very reassuring and kind of you to say so about the judgment part. I already judge myself a lot for it, at the same time I do feel it was a mistake. I wouldn't have done that sober for sure.

Alcohol definitely would have influenced your decision making, if your out drinking know bare this in mind on the future, you haven’t committed crime of the century and your response/feeling towards this shows your true personality.
