Guy's Behavior

Everyone tells me this but is it believable?

I have lots of people who will give me compliments on my looks. The most compliment I get would be that I’m pretty or something around that. It’s always usually from teenagers or women honestly from any age. I do my makeup nicely but don’t wear a lot of it or anything.
I used to have really low self esteem and I think receiving all these compliments has made me kind of rely on them in a way. I don’t get them everyday but I work as a cashier and I get them frequently at my job.
I want to get a job as a reporter and everyone says they can see me doing it which I know has something to do with my looks.
The question I have though is how come I get all these compliments but men never approach me. My sister is also pretty but has had men lined up at her door for years. I’ve had boyfriends but men just never come up to me in public lol.
I am in college and I’ve seen some of them stare at me which is nice but I rarely get hit on or approached. If everyone calls me pretty then how come I never get openly asked out or approached?
I don’t really go out either lol but whenever I’m in the grocery store or there’s a guy at my register, men rarely try to chat me up. Every once a while an older guy will hit on me or touch me or look too hard at me but it rarely happens. Why?
