Why he reject me (twice) then get jealous when I talk to other guys?

I was really into this guy but obviously I was not his type. He was just so attractive to me. He rejected me not once but twice. I guess I could not accept the rejection. However during the two rejections I was sorta talking to other guys casually, nothing serious, just friendly conversation but he would get jealous and try and come around me or by in my vicinity. If a guy rejects a girl twice why would he care who she talks to afterwards much less get jealous unless he loved the attention. If I was not into a guy I would at least want him to be with someone and not be jealous about it. Everyone deserves happiness.
