How can I get his attention or get him to text me first?

My ex and I have been friends for awhile and recently we had a little disagreement. I study abroad and we usually keep in touch but a week ago he didn’t text me over the weekend so when he did, he said he wasn’t in the mood to talk to people. I made sure he was okay before I got upset and said if that’s how he’s feeling, we don’t need to speak. He hasn’t replied since I said that. Is there something I can do to text me again without me reaching out?

One thing all girls should know, is to never let guys text first, for some reason guys are anxious texting first, when you text first, it lets him know you are actually interested... which gives him relief.

i asked him the same thing on Saturday. And he said nah i’m good, i just don’t want to talk to anyone. That’s why I got mad and said we don’t need to talk then. should i say the same thing? or I don’t know, ask if he’s mad at me?
