Why does he repeatedly glance at me for a few seconds and then look away during lectures?

A fellow student of mine used to have a crush on me 4 years ago but lost interest fairly quickly. Yesterday I saw him for the first time after 2 years of online school and he would always turn around to glance at me for 4 seconds. Why did he do that if he is not interested? He was never in a committed relationship and never approached me.

I don‘t know whether He has a girlfriend or Not. But I don‘t Want to approach him Because He seems to Stare at every girl He considers attractive which Makes me think He is just interested in Sex

Sometimes people, who like others, hope their crushes are looking at them because they want to feel noticed and for their crush to return feelings.

Okay, first of all, if you rejected him in the first place why do you care about any of this? Second, you don't know if he is interested in you or not. YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT HE IS THINKING.
I mean is he supposed to be chasing you around still, after you blew him off? Last, staring at you is not 'playing' you. That is about ridiculous. And how can a guy play you when you don't even like him?
