Why am I rejected so much for not immediately being physically intimate?

Talking to a guy is nice, it’s fun and gives me an idea what he might be like. Then the guy always starts discussing cuddling or sleeping together, kissing, and that makes me uncomfortable and feel pressured and not respected. I tell them I need to know them emotionally first before I feel physically attracted to them. They get grumpy and tell me it won't ever work. And then that’s the end of it.
I shouldn’t have to be sexual with a guy to receive emotions. It’s unfair -
Are guys not gentlemen anymore?
