Guys liking girls/men liking women?

I've been trying figure out if a guy likes me and I'll tell you why. I started a new job and pajama day was a few days after I started, so I wore pajamas and when he saw me he said to the person he was walking with but loud enough for me to hear him) "I wish I had of remembered it was pajama day, I would have worn my grey sweats" a few days later he stops me to ask how I like the job but he starts the conversation "i spilled something on my pants, I don't know what it is, but its not pee" and then we get into our conversation and he walked me to my class as we talked and when he left he says "it was nice to spend a little bit of time with you" and proceeds to his meeting that morning. But then when I tried to give him my number he said he "had a lady". But recently i told him to take my number and he gave me his number but hasn't texted me back yet. I'm just confused.

Maybe it's just me and not being able to read when a guy likes me and when he doesn't.
