I made the first move like following him and messaging him but he does the bare minimum by messaging back, liking my story. Is he interested or not?

So there's this guy I have these frequent eye contact with him if we are in the same room/ place. I was the one to follow him first on insta and he followed me back but didn't message me. As I too am really shy I didn't really message him at first and only talked to him about 3 times (where I messaged first). After that he never messaged and I didn't too. But he always likes my stories if it's my photos or me putting on a reel about being single. So life wtf. Also I once caught him looking at me and he was so shocked that he immediately turned his head. (Cute right?) Then the other day I went to his class and when I entered his class he suddenly stopped talking and a girl said to him "it's okay you can smile/laugh". I didn't look his way so I don't know his expressions. Then just yesterday my friend suddenly disappeared and I saw her in his class and I was like "hey you should've told me I looked around and bish you weren't there" (Might have been in a baby tone cuz she is my bff and I was upset) and he asked me "do you always talk like that? Ro is it cuz other people are around?" And I was like so taken aback I didn't know how to respond like wth and then my friend said "yea she always swears what about it?" and I was still confused but I just left... So is he interested in me or just weird?

Have you asked him out? If he won’t give a direct answer. Leave it to him. If not then try that. But at the end of the day. If he’s not showing interest. He’s probably not.
