What does it mean when a guy apologizes for being away from his phone? Does he like me?

I've been talking to this guy and when he takes a while to respond, he apologizes to me. Here are a few he's said:

"Sorry. I was taking a shower"

Sorry. Me and my friend were playing Fortnite."

"Sorry. I wasn't on my phone yesterday."

He wants to make sure you don't think he was ignoring you. Maybe he likes you, or maybe he is just polite because maybe he hates when others don't reply fast and don't give a justification. Or maybe he got big arguments with people when he wasn't replying fast, so he walks on eggshells continuously when he takes a while.
I personally apologize when I take a while to respond, to everyone. And of course I'm not into everyone...
I think you should wait for more concrete signals to determine he is into you or not.
