We must live in very different worlds because with the people I’m around, talking about family or life can be very casual. Personally I don’t share that sort of stuff until I’m friends with someone (or at least cool, like with coworkers) but some people overshare when they’ve found a person who will listen without interrupting or seeming disinterested.
Only take what people are showing you/telling you.
