There is this guy. He used to talk to me (asking generic questions) only when we were alone. When there were his best friends around, he used to make fun of me and when there would be many people around, he used to totally ignore me.
Then, I heard some people saying that this guy and I were a thing. I stopped them. His best friends heard me, and asked me what were they talking about. I told them the rumor. They looked surprised, laughed and told me not to take it personally.
I told them it felt so wrong for both myself and especially this guy (some years ago there was a girl who said that they were a thing when this was not true) I really felt bad for him. When I told them this, they looked shocked, then smiled and walked away.
I was nearby when his best friends told him what happened and I overheard him say "she really did that? There was no need for her to do so" and "oh... now I feel ashamed for all the times I made fun of her". From that moment, he became very quiet (never saw him like this) and did not even utter a word or looked at me for a whole day.
Why wouldn't he talk to me? Not even a hello...

Thanks for your reply. Yeah I agree that it is a really intense feeling... I didn't do it to make him feel ashamed as I used to laugh as well when he used to make fun of me (in a fun way). Oh now I'm gonna miss his hello 😕
Well there's always time if he's still single to surprise him if you really did find him relationship material. Can surprise everyone if you throw the 180 like next friend reunion XD. Can jokingly say the rumor that we're together back then was a lie and us going our separate ways is also turned out to be a lie. And watch the friends eyes like buldge and be puzzled. So we decided despite our differences to seize the chance and move past the awkward comments and just make the initial rumor a truth now. Nothing wrong if you guys reconnect and choose to make it a real relationship. And throw all the mutual friends for a huge loop XD.
And if they ask why you went back well can just say well to me the comments weren't that bad and I admittedly laughed at them. So there wasn't a reason to hold them against him as he also apologized any ways.
