Been with this guy only for a few months. We aren't dating but there was some potential. He met a girl two weeks ago and told me he had been getting to know her. Not to date but to get to know her. He tells me all the time he does get girls numbers but it doesn't means he is interested in them or will text them.

I didn't think anything of it since he used to female attention but we have gotten into two fights and he always brings her up when we fight.. The first fight we had is when he told me he met another girl. The next day after the second fight he told me that he's been "seeing" another girl now because he's done with my attitude and the fighting. The second fight I had mentioned he was seeing someone else and he misheard it and thought i said i was seeing someone else which made him tell me he was going to start seeing someone else. It didn't make sense because right before the fight he was accusing me of seeing someone else and told me he was already seeing someone else but later said he was joking.

Regardless of all that, he still continued to talk to me but I got to overthinking. I told him I didn't want to be an option if he was seeing someone else and was going to leave. He told if i was going to leave, i can't come back at all and will be permanently blocked. So I ended things between us which made him feel pretty bad and thats exactly what he did.

You were requiring to be exclusive to him, and to be able to trust him, to start a relationship. And this is just fair, a relationship is based on trust so if your ability to trust him was continuously interrupted, you did the right thing to not start anything: he wasn't letting you trust him.
Maybe he wasn't actually looking for a relationship but only casual dating, who knows, and that is why afterall he didn't compromise his dating options for you. Or maybe you weren't exactly the woman he was looking for. Whatever the reason, you were definitely not on the same page and didn't survive past the initial steps. Let it go, a more compatible man will appear sooner or later.

If you are constantly looking for something "wrong" in the relationship then you are eventually going to find it and it is going to sound like your unresolved past issues. Even if you misheard, you got emotionally wound up in how the Present will end as the Past and there is no way I am doing that second Option or fallback girl available when there are no other honeypots around.
