Am I overthinking it?

so I just started a new job at a call center a few weeks ago, and have been meeting new people, my training group have been very united since the first day, and a couple of days ago we did a reunion with the other training group in pair with us to get to know each other more because we would be working together, I’ve been very open and kind to everyone, even to start conversations and all, but I can’t get over my head on something, there is this guy there that i’ve been crushing on for quite a while, he’s from the other training group, and even so, in the day job he sits right in front of me, like he chose that place from the very first day he started on floor (taking calls), mind you I was already sitting in front before, not that it means something, it could be very well just a coincidence, but every-time I try to engage with him, either by eye contact or talking, he just ignores me, like i’m not even there, and the day we did the reunion, the other group was very engaging and talkative, even his two most closest friends sat down with my group in a table to start talking and making conversations, and he was there sitting as well with us but very much on his own thing (his phone), mind you as well, he makes conversation with the two people sitting next to my both sides, but i’m just not there, it feels like he does not want to make eye contact or either talk, but I just keep having this feeling, and sometimes we do make eye contact like on flashes and I just can’t get that out of my head, does it mean something, or am I just overthinking it?

He obviously does not want to have anything more than a professional contact with you and he makes you feel it by not returning your glances and looks.

He did probably realize that you were desperately attempting to get his attention and he wants no part of it and just limits his contacts to a professional setting.

Try to keep it strictly professional because it is anyway a bad idea to attempt to get into a relationship with a coworker as this may cause you and him more problems that to give any of you an advantage. Jealousy and favoritism are the 2 issues that could be problematic for such kind of relations.

No I'd be willing to bet that he DOES want a relationship. But again now with the workplace being such a powder keg nowadays I see a lot of guys outright avoiding women at the workplace fearing a possible HR complaint. by the way in the past at least 1/5 relationships began in the workplace I think.

Just ignored, over thinking to much. What if he has girlfriend already? Plus, is a working environment not a dating site. He probably focused what he is doing, in and out, nothing more.

Plus is your first couple of days chill. Get to. Know people more. I honestly as a man, i will never date a girl in my work. It causes to much drama and uncomfortable in many ways if the relationship goes south. Never have an affair or relationship at work.

Odds are that he doesn't have a girlfriend what with I think almost 7/10 young men are single. Right now it's a struggle to avoid workplace drama because no one wants to lose their jobs nowadays especially before this recession. And yes you are overthinking it.

I am single 😆. My friend she want to establish a relationship with me but I avoid her.

One because I am self-employed pushing my business constantly.

Two the drama I don't have the time for it. I have better things to focus which are numbers, i mean customer ain't a issue i can decide wether make a agreement.

Three I know my friend since 2011 till 2014. In the ends of 2013 i was presented, my ex. We broke up in 2014. To much drama.

Four, after so many years my friend came reached me back. In 2021, just to tell me she was single but she has a kid now. I thinking "🥴 a kid, Never mind, more drama, nope thank you".

We just carry text and text. We only hang out once with their sisters, not her with her kid. Then she gives me invites to go dance but brings excuses 2 times over the same excuse.

I said to my self, "enough is enough" I see why she having hard times doing life decisions she unstable. I decided to quit texting her. Once for all.

So yes. People have made a decision if you have a job. Avoid drama all cost. Just focus saving and working until your retirement.

As self employed I feel more relaxed being at home, hear no yaps. I clean the house with loud music. Go to bars drink just beer and a plate. while watching some sports. While in bar 🤷‍♂️ if a female just wants to hit. We go for it done deal. Move on. As always careful.

Be in the garage working on my vehicles or sit down watching paranormal series on YouTube. Around evening workout. Then hit the spa bubbles bath in my bathroom.

I may adopt a kid 🤷‍♂️. I don't know some kids just need an adult to guide them for success and experienced holidays. Feel the freedom. I don't know I'll think about it.

There is an old saying: "Don't dip your wick in company ink." Everyone I know has broke that rule at least once. Most of the time it hurts them in the long run. Romances, in the work place, seldom end well. Looks good on TV but not so well in reality. I have been there, tried it, and paid the pipper.

He either is ignoring you because he thinks you like him, or he is ignoring you because he's nervous because he likes you and doesn't want to screw up his chance, or he is ignoring everyone because he isn't as social as the rest of you.
