Is that contradictory? He says he wants to be friends after a month of no contact (if he doesn't change his mind). I'm confused because isn't that the opposite of what he wants?

Because he wants to. Ail you on the side when he can. I’ve never really stayed “friends” w girls I used to date or banged. If I did it was purely from a sexual POV. The ones I did keep in contact w would jump in a heartbeat if I said let’s go out. It would usually end w me getting a blowjob or full on banging.

But maybe he's saying that so he doesn't have to act like a boyfriend or do any of the stuff a boyfriend is supposed to do like be monogamous/faithful or put in time and effort to the relationship. He's maybe looking for quick benefits like sex without ever actually acting like a boyfriend. I'd find a guy that actually wants to be your boyfriend. Wants to be in a relationship.
