The guy you are describing I would suggest to stay away from a guy like that.
It shows this man doesn't believe in what's fair nor right but rather have views that only benefit him.
His sense of judgment is off and most likely it will be off in other areas as well that you know nothing about til it's too late.
I would understand if he meant a radical modern-day feminists that just talk useless ish but this guy you are dealing with are the kind that believe women should just shut up cook and clean and have babies, so beware.
Me and my husband have our differences and we disagree with many things. As long as there is respect for each other’s opinion, everything is fine. You’re dating the guy so get to know him more don’t assume too quickly simply based off his thoughts regarding feminism.
He’s probably been burned/had his reputation threatened by a woman. I almost did. Once you have to deal with that, you see the way society and those you care about change drastically to pin you as the bad guy. That’s when you start to realize feminism is toxic. Do the right thing and don’t subject this guy to your feminist rhetoric. You both will be better off
Just because a man is against feminism doesn't mean he is a misogynist or a crazy person. It is actually quite rational for a man to oppose modern feminism because it opposes men. If anything it's the self-proclaimed "male feminists" who you should be wary of.
If he has a problem with that, who knows what else he has a problem with. Most guys that have an issue with feminism are usually assholes anyway. Avoid them and dodge a bullet.
If he thinks women are less than men and that women shouldn't be allowed to vote then it means he has no respect for women which means ultimately no respect for you. Why be with someone who doesn't respect you?
Most traditional guys don't like to talk about it, but being anti feminist to the point of not supporting women's suffrage is more common than you might think.
Put it this way, The last couple of elections you participated in, how confident are you that you made the right choices?
Also consider that the policy proscription that women shouldn't vote doesn't necessarily have to be taken personally. Your guy could very be impressed by your rationality and understanding of politics, he just understands that you're not like other girls.
There are a lot of interesting political questions, and "Do you believe in feminsm?" Is such a simplistic starting point. Unless you and he were to jump into a deep political and philosophical debate, I would say it's a mistake to dismiss him so readily.
After all, do you even KNOW what you're talking about?
What is your opinion on the classical liberalism vs marxism dialectic?

I'm apolitical actually. But I do find your questions a bit patronizing. It's basically like you are saying women are already dumb, I know their dumb so let me just throw this random ass question at them you know they don't give two shits about to prove that men are smarter and bother themselves with topics like that.
However, there are a lot of men from my generation and gen z who are extremely unintelligent because they don't care to learn or retain info. I don't see you taking their right to vote away, are they inherently smarter to vote when they don't care?
On top of it, women have to be automatically excluded just because they're a woman, assuming she's an idiot because of her gender. That's very high and mighty of you to decide that and make that decision so easily.
If the tables were reversed, you would be infuriated and insulted. If you would feel that way, why shouldn't women? I should have the right to vote and any other woman, especially ones that aren't apolitical and who care a lot and are way more intelligent than I am. I feel like in some regards you'll have that male privilege of not knowing what that feels like.
Have someone exclude you from life because they think you are less than. Like wow thanks, I can't change my gender it's messed up to put someone down for something impossible to change and we shouldn't be doing that in the first. It's the exact opposite of what Jesus wants.
Well actually I have it on good authority that you CAN change your gender. HAHAHA
No but seriously, I couldn't give two shits about your emotional backlash. You're not wrong, I am in fact pretty dismissive. I do think that I'm better than most people.
Your fury sounds like typical feminine bullshit to me. "How dare you!" Gimme a break.
But I will try to share and engage with your queries.
Yes it was a patronizing question. But since the topic is women's political competency, and more specifically YOUR political competency and literacy, it was fair game. You really want to justify your right to vote? Better bring facts and theory and not your Katy Perry feefees.
Truly, I'm kind of appalled that you would admit that you're "apolitical" and still feel intellectually entitled to participate. Why? Because you feel slighted by Chad? Do you see how petty you sounds?
Yes, Zoomers are stupid. Constraining their suffrage might be a good idea. I'm not all that enamored with democracy or universal suffrage as of late.
Yes, since we're specifically debating women's suffrage I do concede that it would be a broad blanket rule that would remove the good votes from some minority of level headed women. It'll be fine though since what matters is the aggregate. Most women not voting would be a good thing, and that's what's important. Ann Coulter famously argues for one vote per household.
How would I feel if the tables were reversed? A civilization where women held power is just completely contradictory to my understanding of gender and power... but I do feel like I am "marginalized" or unrepresented quite a bit in our modern dystopia. I got news for you kiddo, feeling powerless is just a fact of life.
But since I understand that with great power comes great responsibility I would implore you to think like me and consider that everybody should justify their power by demonstrating competency.
When navigating hierarchies; When people feel that I shouldn't be in power, let's say in a job for instance, I don't pout and make emotional appeals to "fairness", I try to win by convincing everybody that I am intelligent, knowledgeable, and rational and that I should be trusted. I don't ask the boss for a promotion unless I show up on time every day. I don't ask my teammates to follow my lead unless I know what I'm doing.
And that is the common experience as men. Nobody every just "gives" us anything. We have to earn everything by the sweat of our brow. "Male privilege" is a misnomer. Most men are powerless in comparison to the elites calling the shots, and increasingly, put upon and neglected in comparison to our female counterparts.
And the worst part is how dysfunctional the whole thing is. It wouldn't be so bad being a peasant in a civilization that did great things and allowed everybody to flourish despite their shortcomings. But we live in a civilization lead by morons. We need better leadership. We need elites to start acting like elites. But I'm sure you know better. :)
I respect your opinion and I agree with some of your points. You make some good points. I appreciate you for admitting that you were trying to patronize me instead of denying it or trying to gaslight me. It's honestly a little surprising to see a man start shit with someone they don't know, for no reason. Normally guys are the opposite of Karen's, they're chill, they don't like drama. I get the impression you like drama, you like ruffling feathers, and you find satisfaction in it. Anyway, I don't have hard feelings for what we talked about. I wish the best for you.
After your update I feel a little bit better about him, as I agree to an extent. If you want to vote, it is best for you to actually be required to contribute to the society that you are determining the fate of. This is why not even men have ever had the privilege to vote by age alone even before 1920. They had to own land and fight in war.
The only thing is, I don't know what to have women do? I think selective service should be abolished because all war is at this point is the elitist equivalent of a historical strategy game. One elite threatens the nobility of the other and now thousands of men have to die.
Maybe we need to go back to owning land but young people can rarely afford even that. Especially since corporations like Blackrock and Microsoft are buying it all up to get a monopoly on farming.
As long as he isn't a MGTOW he-man woman hater, i wouldn't worry. But the fact your dude didn't even want us to have the right to vote, nahh i wouldn't trust him
I guess there are many degrees of feminism. He seems to be more extremely anti feminism than you are pro feminism it does not look too compatible to me
The way you feel about him is how a large plurality of guys feel about feminism. At this point it’s evolved into a supremacy movement that works to elevate women at the expense of men.
He's right about one thing. You shouldn't expect rights and privilege's if you're not willing to put yourself in harms way when you are needed. I'm seeing way too many women go on about equal rights, but the moment the topic of wars come up they are like "EW! NO! I didn't become a feminist to join the military. Men can keep that."

If they pass the bill to draft women, I would fight for my country. That isn't the problem. Men decide for us to not allow us to fight.
I love women and respect them. However I prefer women take on a traditional relationship role. Honestly I can’t stand girls with bossy and dominant personalities.

Are you from America? Because women do fight in the war too. Not as many as men but still... your dude sounds silly
@anon1903 & @Nikki1989 have already summed this up in it's entirety.
Yes.
A man who doesn't think women deserve equal rights and who listens to "feminism bad" doesn't deserve a woman.
Full stop.
Guys who are into feminism tend to be wimps so I don't like that. I like strong, manly men.
to ano, content wimps, yay, that is how some of my lovers felt and said to me when issue came up.
Ditch him. Be thankful you found out when you did. Move on from this joker. Plenty of fish in the sea. 😊

Then you have more bravery then many.
dont ask, it usually not even come into conversation
I love women and respect them. However I prefer women take on a traditional relationship role. Honestly I can’t stand girls with bossy and dominant personalities.
Good luck finding someone docile like that 🙂
@Minahh I’m dating her right now.
I don't care whether a woman is a complete feminist or not at all or anything in between.
I care about ditching (sexist) traditions.
No problem, just tell him his views are anathema to you and you never want to see his sorry ass again.
