HELP! What if a guy said he’s interested, but doesn’t text me first yet always texts back?

I’ve been talking to a guy I went up to for about a month now and it was all fun. He’s always been a dry texter compared to me but it was clear he’s interested. But i’m always the one texting first, he's only done it twice in the past and for almost two weeks now it’s been nothing. The convos are dry, he doesn’t seem like he wants to talk etc. I’ve asked him if he’s still interested, as we only talk when i text him nowadays, and he said yes and how he’s going through some stuff (got an injury through a sports game) n how it makes him not want to do anything ig. Also before i asked him i didn’t text him for nearly three days and nothing came from him, why is he claiming to still wanna talk and be interested but nothing comes from him? When we do talk which, was usually every day til now, he always replied back fast and remembered to get back to me later if busy. I don't know what to do

just some info - I've asked wether he likes to text or if he likes to communicate a different way n he's said he doesn’t mind either way n likes it. also asked to call too.

Sounds like it. Please heed my advice on texting though. Any guy who says he likes it is not being honest. Texting provides about 10% of the overall message intended. No voice inflection/intonation, no body language... just the written message. This all adds up to shitty communication.

i don’t even like it myself bc you can't get to know someone that way, i really have tried to call or meet up with him but it’s never worked out and the only thing that happened was him giving me hope rather than being honest
