In other words he thinks he's in charge, he's making the decisions, he's the head of the household etc etc meanwhile you've either put the idea in his head or asked him very sweetly, praised his efforts or shown your gratitude in various ways or just rewarded him with some good loving when he gets home. I suspect its always been this way since cave man times "honey I'm going to do some gathering and clean the cave if it's not too much trouble can you hunt a woolymamooth for meat and maybe later I will show you how much I appreciate you".

I recommend a combination of being submissive, good cooking and sex lots of sex. Guys are generally very easy to get them to do what you want, most guys if you argue with or nag either will get stubborn and dig in their heels are just not bother out of tiredness.

This is a great question. It made me laugh because I've seen really funny examples in old comedy films and have been aware of the dynamic for many, many years.

It's exactly as you describe. He thinks he's in charge. He's making the decisions. He's the head of the household etc etc. Meanwhile you've put the idea in his head, all while acting sweet and submissive and praising him for being so smart, as if he was the one who thought of it in the first place. He puffs up when praised for his brilliant decision. And his good behavior gets rewarded with other forms of tender "gratitude".

The idea is exemplified in one of my favorite movies, Life With Father (1947). But I've seen other examples, too.

It is a classic way for women to get what they want without causing acrimony. The woman gets what she wants and the clueless guy is as happy as a clam. I admire women who are clever enough to play the man/woman game. It's a win-win.

Think of men like dogs. A dog responds to reward and praise. What they want least of all is disapproval. Shouting or punishing them is counterproductive.

They want to be busy and useful, so you can reward natural behavior that is desirable, and show displeasure with natural behavior that is undesirable. Eventually, they display only the desirable behaviors. And, all the while, they still get to be happy dogs.

The difference with men is, you have to be subtle. If they suspect that they are being manipulated, you lose trust and the game is over. Maintaining his all important ego is essential.

It's important to note that this is mainly necessary with "head of household" type guys who believe in "traditional roles".
Other guys believe in equal partnerships in which neither is the other's boss.

But it's still a fact that a man's masculine ego is essential to his mental wellbeing. A man who doesn't feel like a man is going to have emotional problems. So, even in an equal partnership, the woman plays an important role in making him feel like a man. She does so by acting feminine, admiring his masculine traits and abilities, and enjoying doing "feminine things".

Women have done this for all human history. There was a time it was necessary for self-perseveration and to provide for the baby.

Now we live in a so called “equal” society but women still subconsciously (and others like you consciously) are acting disingenuous for self serving purposes. A man is only good for a woman if he can provide some sort of value for her (she finds him attractive, they need ego boosting attention, he has money, social status, she’s nice to him just for optics but doesn’t really care how he personally feels, etc).

You could argue that men are the same way but overall we are definitely not. We were taught (and continually chastised) that women are special just for existing whether they provide value or not. Women really have this expectation of men.
If you don’t believe me then why do women have “body positivity” movements. These attention starved big girls have an expectation from men to get attention from men despite men not finding them attractive. It ties in with being special “for existing”.

What women fail to realize is this double standard is plain as day to men especially when modern women complain about “inequality”. Women just don’t want to give their right to be “special just for existing”.

Men do not and can not have this expectation in life.

First of all most guys like to please there girlfriend. Wife friend. And 11 out of 10 times he knows what's going on maybe 2 out of 10 guys that don't know there girlfriend wife as good as they should might do the ego thing.
