My coworker and I regularly text on work and random stuff, we are becoming friends and I can feel the romance in our relationship. I feel that we like each other but his comment to me being a stalker even if it was a joke has really put me off. Should I stop reaching out outside of work hours?

I will always advise against mixing work with pleasure for things like this. It can get messy, rarely ever works and you don’t want to have to deal with the fallout if shit hits the fan. I don't know much about this guy but he sounds a bit immature, that response was very unattractive as well. Wash your hands of that, you’re too grown.
