Why does he want to reconnect with me after so long?

So you guys can refer to my last post as its about the same guy. I met this guy at a cultural fest and we talked a bit after his performance and exchanged emails. He texted me right after and we talked for about a month or two. He took almost whole day in replying and it wasn't going anywhere so I stopped talking to him. This guy emailed me two days back, saying he was archiving data and thought of reconnecting with me. I opened it yesterday and replied that I was doing well and how he has been? He sounded too excited in his reply today stating hey hey I'm glad your email is active after all and stuff. Do you all think he's interested in me? Tbh I know the university he's from, and he has really pretty ladies around him, it's just surprising to me that he wants to reconnect when we just talked about random stuff and met twice. I don't think we had any moment of spark shared even when we emailed. Please do let me know your thoughts. Thank you for the help!

There could be any number of factors; maybe he was seeing someone else and it didn’t work out, curiosity, maybe he’s bored, maybe he missed you. We can’t know his logic behind reaching out without asking him directly, so I’d rather focus on the bigger picture here, and to me that means wondering what would be different if you gave him another chance?


Often times the idea of having someone back in your life is far greater than what you’ll actually get. Over this time apart, did he change and become more talkative? More assertive? Showing more interest? Those traits could be part of his character, and if they are then you’d be wasting your time opening that door again.
