I have been hanging out with a guy for an over a year. I thought it would be for a short while, fun sex and nothing more. I quickly realized I have feelings for him and one day he told me he’s fallen in love with me. I thought now we can be open about our feelings and act like a couple, for example when we are out in public. However, when we are in public he’s quite formal with me. He’s sweet and kind but acts like someone I just met as opposed to someone I’ve been with for a while. Then there is his non stop talking. It almost seems like he’s nervous around me and can’t stand being quiet. But I wonder why? I thought we were comfortable with each other. When we are in private he can only open up in the bedroom. This is where he’s his most honest and open self. We can share our secrets and have amazing intimacy. In the bedroom he tells how he feels. And then when we are outside the bedroom, he’s back to acting like a friend and not like a lover. What would be the cause of these shifts in how he acts around me? Is he shy deep down? Do I intimidate him? More importantly, how do I take the intimacy from the bedroom into every day encounters?

Something wrong with him? Maybe social anxiety or taught not to show?
Maybe the bedroom is where he is faking and is just saying what you wanna hear cause no one else can hear his lies?
friends with benefits to couples really never works out rarely it does but mostly better off as just sex till a better match comes.
It's not you it is him being weird ask his friends about it!
What would be the benefit of lying? We both get what we want so there really is no incentive of saying I love you and such. It’s quite the opposite because it makes everything more complicated.
Well real benefit of easy friends with benefits or free girlfriend who likes him all he has to do is pretend to like you too.
Till some one more pretty come along
Hate to tell you, but the odds of you two becoming a real couple are somewhere between slim and none. Why would he? You give him all the free pie he wants without a relationship.
