I knew a man who I’d said was a bad person, because he’d tried to turn my friends against me. I said he’s a spoiled, stuck up snob and I didn’t want anything to do with him (he was, or at least seemed like it). Months later and he’s added me to Facebook under one of his accounts and paid me lots of compliments and said how important it is to respect women in romantic relationships and said that nothing I was worried about would happen if we dated. I asked him what he wanted and he didn’t answer. Why am I asking? Bored and mildly curious.

Sounds to me like he was sucking up to you.
What for?
To make you like him.
To try to convince me to go out with him?
Yes, or be his friend.
What’s more likely of the two? I don’t read social cues very well. So it’s impossible for me to tell.
Friends.
Why won’t men just come out and say this stuff? I went on a date with him by accident (didn’t recognise him); and asked what he wanted and he said friendship, then he kissed me in a really full on way and said ‘I love you.’ What’s with that?
Messing with me, confused or scared?
Ask him?
I’d rather not. He’s sending too many mixed messages. But what do you think he wants?
