Reunited with my childhood crush, thoughts?

I recently reunited with my childhood crush at an event. We both knew we liked each other as kids. I hadn't seen him in nearly 10 years because I moved cities. I don't have any feelings for him anymore, but I was still nervous to see him after so long.

I was sitting across from him at a table, and noticed he couldn't keep eye contact with me, seemed very shy, and was blushing when I spoke to other people on our table. He didn't say a word to me the whole time. When we left the event, I was standing with a group of people he also knew, but he was staring at me, smiled and waved goodbye without looking at anyone else. I found this whole interaction quite strange, any ideas what was going on in his mind? Do guys still think about their childhood crushes often?

A crush is usually a one-sided affair and seldom reciprocated. You may have had a crush on him but he may not have had one on you and just liked you.

When you met again, he felt uncomfortable because of that fact and he did not really know how to behave, knowing that you were observing him. He clearly did not want to talk to you on a face to face basis by fear to "awaken the demons" again...

He probably realized that if he talked to you, you would tackle the subject of the crush and he was not ready (or willing) to talk about it.

Just forget about the situation and him and forget about this crush.

As to whether people still think about their childhood crush or not; yes some do but most have moved on.

I am 68 years old and occasionally think about the girl who had my heart when i was in high school, 50+ years ago.

Sounds like he is terminally shy or insecure.
