Asked my co worker out via text and his reply was “Very Nice!”?

Over the last couple of months, I’ve gotten to know a new team member and we clicked really well. At one point, I thought I noticed some tension between us and since then I feel like it’s only grown.

Because it’s a work setting I’m very conscious of making sure I’m not being too forward, not flirting at work etc. We’ve started going for coffee breaks together as well as taking lunch together, which a couple of colleagues have noticed.

I just got his number a few days ago and our conversations have been around things we want to go out and do (never specifying if we want to do them together however). I decided to tell him about something I wanted to do and mention that he could come along if he was interested, the only reply I got was “Very nice!”.

Now the text I sent was casual enough that it doesn’t necessarily imply that it would be anything other than a friendly hang out, but I still don’t know how to take this response. I don’t have to see him for a few more days as we don’t work all the same shifts but the anxiety of not knowing what he meant is a bit much.

I’m just looking for any opinions or advice. I’m very open to hearing whatever you have to say, however I don’t think I will be sending any follow up texts just as a precaution lol. Thanks in advance!
