Why is my ex being so petty? returning insignificant gifts after telling me to leave him alone?

He has NPD most likely. All the signs are there. Even my coworkers think he’s nuts and unfortunately I had a relationship with him for a long time and we just broke up a few months ago.

Every time we get into an argument it goes to the absolute worst lengths where he threatens to call the police on me and then keeps sending messages even after I stop responding.

He’s telling people in there that I need to leave HIM alone. And that’s exactly what I’m doing but I guess this is part of the smear campaign.

If he wants me to leave him alone so bad (he’s said this so many times before), why is he returning perfume samples I gave him which are so insignificant? And staring at me from afar?

I’ve done that. He has now started to stare at me and hoover me because im not giving him a reaction. When im not pining over him and begging for a reconciliation and starts staring at me from afar , circling around where i work looking at my phone to see if im speaking to other guys, but won't directly make contact with me.

He says he wants 0 contact with me , 0 interaction (all has been said before) but now is telling people that I need to leave him alone, but nobody is falling for his shit.
