What are some signs your boyfriend is jealous of you? what would make him jealous?

I’m starting to think my boyfriend is jealous of me. I think he feels I don’t love him the way he wants me too and I think that’s turned into envy. A couple of people have told me when they mentioned me to him he seem like he wasn’t even happy to talk about me. Meanwhile he calls me everyday and text me wyd even though he knows where I’m at or what I’m doing. Is he jealous bc I’m popular? A lot of guys like me? My personality? Or that he feels he can loose me. I don’t know what it is but it makes me not trust him and when I try to talk to him about it he doesn’t open up. I don’t know what to do.

Whoa, that's heavy stuff. A couple things jump out as potential signs he's jelly:

- Getting weird/cold when other guys are mentioned around you. Like automatically assuming you're into them or something.

- Constantly asking what you're doing or double texting, even though he knows. Trying to keep tabs on you maybe?

- Clamming up and not opening up when you bring it up. Dudes hate admitting feelings of insecurity.

- Friends noticing a difference in how he talks about you vs. other girls. Like he doesn't wanna share the hype.

As for what could trigger it - your popularity for sure. Seeing all the attention you get probably makes him nervous. Or if you're more accomplished than him currently - some dudes can't handle that.

My advice? Be straight with him. Remind him why you're together - for your connection, not some other dudes. And that his jealousy isn't cool and makes you trust him less. Make time for just you two as well so he doesn't feel replaced.

See if that opens him up to talking through what's really bugging him. Reassure him as much as you can once you know. Jealousy often stems from feeling insecure in the relationship, so breaking down those walls could help a lot. Just be patient - dudes have egos, man!
