Why do Western guys shave everywhere but keep their armpits as bushy as a jungle?

I don't know how to feel about it. I just can't stop thinking about why you guys don't shave your armpits but keep the rest as smooth as a baby's butt.👶👶👶

Most men only shave their faces if that. Unless you're a pro athlete like a swimmer, pro-body buildier, etc, why shave? Men aren't supposed to be hairless! We're men! You think Alexander the Great manscaped? George Washington? Humphrey Bogart? Steve McQueen?

Men aren't supposed to be smooth like women. Embrace the differences. Most men aren't very hair to begin with: very hairy backs, for example, so some chest hair, leg hair, arm hair, etc is the norm.

Let men embrace their masculinity!

In fact, thinking it was the fashion, one time, to surprise her, I shaved everything. Pubes, armpits, chest, legs.

She was surprised all right. She hated it. She said it made her feel like she was a child molester. She said she wants a man who looks like a man and not a boy who has yet to experience puberty.

Works for me, too. First, because all that shaving was a lot of work. In fact, I don't get it, beards seem to be "in" right now, presumably because guys can't be bothered to shave. Yet they have the time to shave everything else? Go figure.

That said, I shave my beard in the spring and summer months, but otherwise everything is natural. (I have a beard in the fall and winter only because I loathe cold weather and a beard just makes me feel a bit warmer.)

Besides, evolution gave us body hair for a reason. It is a signal to the female that we are sexually mature and can produce sperm to make babies. Also, it traps pheromones that our bodies produce that make us more sexually attractive. So when you shave your body hair, you are effectively sending your sex appeal into space.

Not gonna do that. Besides, my girlfriend, when she is feeling cutesy, likes to call me "her furry little bear." So - - - "furry little bear" I am, "furry little bear" I intend to remain. The only fur on me to go will be the beard in late March - and by that point the girlfriend and our children are ready to see it go.

The armpit hair of mature males serves to disperse pheromone scents which subconsciously intuitively AFFECT other hominids both male & female, primates and simians. Its a retro-characteristic... it also aids in diminishing arm rotation frictional chafing.

Lol to some answers here. If Alexander the Great had manscaping tools to gently do the work, he would! I'm not a pro athlete but I shave mostly everything. I trim my lollipop area and have trimmed beard and mustache. The rest I shave cause I feel great and look really hot in the mirror :D

We don't shave everywhere. Facial hair is the most common place we shave, and some of us don't even do that.

The typical guy has hair everywhere... arms, legs, chest, back, genitals, top of the head, facial hair, you name it. We guys are too lazy (in a good way) to even try to shave everything.

If I shave my armpits they chafe against my lats on race day. I do trim them though. My balls do not chafe against my lats, however, hence the difference.
