Why does he mimic me?

My boyfriend copies how i speak and im not sure if its a compliment or not.

For example i sometimes add “uh” to the end of a word and now he does it all the time. For example instead of calling me babe he calls me babe-uh.

Or just generally copying what i say after i say it trying to sound like me.

Does he think im cute or is he just being mean?

People pick up the speech patterns of those around them; it's a very common and natural thing that people do around everyone.

That said, he might be doing it to tease you a little. I can't say without seeing your interactions with the guy.

It’s automatic - we mimic the people we like, so it’s usually a good sign actually

though some people force it and it comes across as unauthentic - but it’s hard to tell from a distance what your boyfriend is doing
