What does it mean when a guy talks to his parents about a female friend?

I have a guy friend that I’ve known for many years but we didn’t start hanging until two years ago. I met his parents one day cause I was going to go to a party with him and an other female friend. Both of his parents especially his mom said that he talks about me frequently. And in terms of our friendship we have a similar sense of humour and we both like anime but we don’t hang out alone or message each other.

Doesn't mean much other than he and his parents are close and share what's going on in their lives. I wouldn't read too much into it other than that. I get the feeling you are wondering if he has more feelings than just being a friend. Just because he talks about his friends to his parents doesn't necessarily mean that. I tell my parents about friends from time to time and what we've been up to. I'll give an example. In the summer my one friend has a small boat we go out on all day. My parents are boaters so we talk about that sorta thing. Doesn't mean I have feelings for any of my friends I hang out with and talk to my parents about.

That’s what I was thinking but In the past I would have other guy friends and people around would say stuff like “he totally likes you” or “the two of you sound like an old married couple” so I never know at this point.

I think if you've been friends for as long as you have been and he hasn't made a move I wouldn't assume he has those feelings. Just my take on it.

I’m not assuming he has feelings for me at all. What would you do if everyone around you treated every male friend you had as anything but a platonic friendship?

I'd just make it known nothing is going to happen and not to expect it to change. I'd also make it clear it could damage the friendship if he were to get the idea there was more. Just FYI my best and oldest friend is a guy and everyone knows nothing will ever happen between us.

Lol when I got back from my mission I ended up hanging out with one of my female friends from the same congergation.

My mom would make weird commets like Oh you would make a fantastic daughter on law one day.

Or when our congergation went to tbe temple my parents would say oh this would be nice for you guys to get married.

My mom would push me to datey friend. But we didn't see each othr as a romance just like a hey how is it going or what's up? That's it. But my parents would makes things awkward.

Even now my mom wod say oh if only you married Malissa. Yeah my mom qas very peticular especially if the girl was so involved in the church.

I couldn't speak about my friends at home, because my family didn't accept the people I befriended as a teenager. I don't blame them... But my best friend talked about me with his family... I was invited to dinners... everyone knows we are friends. It has been like that since the first grade lol
