My boyfriend said I wasn't cute but beautiful?

  • We've been together for a little over a year and he's met my friend group but I always noticed his eyebrows would go up whenever a friend or I referred to myself as cute The other day I was looking at myself in the mirror and I said 'look how cute I look' he said I wasn't cute I was taken a back and asked him what he meant but he didn't mean for me to hear cause he avoided eye contact. I pushed and asked him why he thought I wasn't cute why are u dating me. He sensed I was upset from how I was asking cause he wasn't look at me. I was really sad and I said fine since u don't find me appealing and I turned to leave his house. He picked me up before I got to the door. 'Ur not cute , ur beautiful I don't see why everyone calls u cute cause ur small' his face was in my back at this point and I was dangling there. I am quite short standing at 5ft1 and when we go out sometimes people mistaken me as his daughter cause I do have the face of someone that has not gone through puberty and I'm quite petite at that I mean I fit in size 8 to ten kids clothes and my feet fut in ages 3-4 Yr old boy shoes. His 6 Yr old son has the same shoe size as me. He is really tall too at 6ft2 and way bigger than me. So I was upset when he said that I wasn't we are 14yrs apart he's 35 this year and I'm 21. I had a ex that would belittle me for not looking my age at all saying I wasn't feminine enough and he knows this. He's a horrible liar so I took what he said seriously but my heart did skip a beat when he said that. He put me down after I stated I wasn't mad anymore and he apologized for causing the miss understanding. He's great and he gets me and i trust him, I'm sure its nothing but he did make me feel better. But I think he was trying to save himself.
