It's not fair that replacing a guy seems to be the only agreed upon way to kick a guy where it hurts the most (ego). What if you can't find a guy to replace him with? Aren't there other ways to make him realize a girl's value and regret taking his time in asking her out, and get even with him for taking her for granted?
+1 yThis Legit Just happen to me. This girl was kinda flirting with me for the past 6 months, I finally Asked out for Coffee just for her to say No, and found her on FB dating that Night, Because I took to long.
I don't know the situation, with him. If he's the "Player" type that's one thing, but theirs guys who either have been rejected many times. In my case I have a Terminal illness. Out side I seem like a normal healthy Adult inside I have 20+ medications keeping my body alive and for us to leave ourselves vulnerable to a relationship that may hurt us is difficult, fearful and very well may just break that last piece of us, An you never get over that.
If you do want to hurt him. Have fun, enjoy life. Go for a walk, take up a new hobby. If he was a Narcissist, Seeing you happy without him will drive him nuts. If its like my case (which i doubt your talking about) talk to him. Key thing is to forget about them, and don't attack him, don't talk behind his back don't insult them that reflects more on you then them. Be the more Mature Party and have fun!

I guess my question is, why do you need to hurt someone you really shouldn't be caring about at all anymore? Like, how does it benefit you, unless you have narcissistic tendencies with some deep need to make yourself feel superior to someone else? I'm not saying you are that way, only that this is what someone who is that way would act like, and I think you're better than that. It really sounds like extra work for someone who doesn't mean anything to you anymore. My recommendation would be "just move on with your life". Whatever that means. Focus more on work or school. Focus more on the family and friendships you might have been neglecting. Reallocate the time you were giving to a person, who's now a "nobody", to someone else or something else more important in your life.

u +1 yDon't play these games. Leave that kind of petty and immature stuff to middle schoolers (not that I'd encourage this kind of behavior among them anyway, but I digress).
You'd be hurting another guy to get even with someone else. You shouldn't begin a new relationship until you are ready to, not because you want to get back at someone else. Not even if that's only a small part of it.
The best thing that someone in this kind of situation can do is to live a good life without the person who hurt them. It means that they live well and don't allow themselves to become consumed with the idea of hurting the person who hurt them. Again, it's petty, it's immature, and then there's also the question of whether they'd be satisfied anyway.

+1 yInsult the things he likes, the things he wears, his hair, tell him he's ugly or short or smelly Tell him you've just been using him to make someone else jealous, next time you talk on the phone, act like you don't know it's him and start making fun of him to the person you "think" you're talking to. Next tie he asks you out,. tell him you'd like to invite a friend along (in particular, another guy) and then spend most of your time talking to your friend than with him.
10 Reply Indifference. When you try to replace a guy or try to do something that’ll hurt him, it’s just so obvious. There’s nothing more hurtful than realizing that the person genuinely doesn’t care anymore. If he approaches you you can wish him all the best, and leave it at that

u +1 y"Getting even" is an excuse to remain involved with someone after you have allegedly broken up. How does "getting even" advance you in any way? What it means is that what he thinks and feels is still important to you. I recommend you stop thinking about revenge, you actually break up, and then you go no contact - not to make him miss you, but real contact where you never talk to him again.

+1 yThe best way is not to go with him on the date, but I understand it's too late to use the best solution. So now, the only thing you can really do is to be as happy as possible. If you want revenge, take into consideration it will hurt you more than you. Because he doesn't care, and you do a lot... Revenge kills part of your heart and soul and taints your emotions; it also hurts people around you. It's not worth it.
Move on and live your life happily

+1 ySure next time you see him with people or him, just say something like ‘I pity a narcissistic guy like you who doesn’t know how to maintain a relationship or even a basic friendship. It is sad case when I think about it because we haven’t really had a genuine conversation or have you shown an emotion in our whole relationship. Deep down I don’t know what I ever saw in you, I think you really must hate yourself.

+1 yThat's petty and childish behavior. I don't know why would someone lose their time planning how to hurt someone.
30 ReplyLeaving a person for the sake of ego checking is the sign of a psycho. You are not being sincere with the guy you are getting with or the guy you left.
If you want to leave, then just leave. People don't change for you. They are who they are, You either accept that or you don't.

+1 yThis is high school drama. Just walk away and avoid the obsessive and immature acts. Also, it doesn’t hurt a guy in the least to be replaced if he’s not interested. This is woman think and chick-flick script fodder, not real life.

+1 yFor me what hurts more than being replaced is being rejected, so if he comes crawling back just reject him I guess but otherwise I don't know what else that you could do

+1 yWhy bother? I mean really, why would someone care? Move on if someone doesn't appreciate you because someone else will. Revenge is a two-edged sword, and the wielder usually cuts themself as well.

+1 yVery few guys get hurt when you "replace" him. Especially if he is the one that ended things. All he thinks if he even sees it is "that poor sod she got another victim"

+1 yNot being around. If you want to make a guy realize what he's missing, don't be around. That doesn't necessarily mean, get another guy, but, just don't be around anymore
