Help - does his silence mean that he doesn’t like me?

it’s probably my overthinking but I’m worried that my colleague doesn’t like me in that way.

We have a close/flirty relationship where we tease each other. He does tease and joke around with other people though.

He has sometimes displayed signs of being slightly jealous (going quiet when I talk about other men, interrupting my conversation with another guy) and on a recent night out, we both confessed that we like each other (while slightly drunk)

He was teasing me about how short I am. I said, “I enjoy being short and cute”

He said - “I’m not commenting on that”

Me - “what did you say?”

Him - “nothing”

Me - “oh so now you’re disputing that I’m cute?”

and he didn’t respond.

Did he ignore me because he doesn’t think I’m cute or attractive?

This might sound like a stupid question but, I mean, ARE you cute? I'm sure that you are, cute people tend to have the confidence to openly say they are. It's just worth asking I think.

But, I will tell you what I think. If you didn't know, a LOT of guys are terrified of making their feelings for a girl known. they don't want to blow it. and most of them have learned, right or wrong, that if a girl hasn't blatantly made it clear that she likes them, they probably don't.

They have also learned that when It "feels" like a girl is flirting but they aren't actually sure she likes them, 9 times out of 10 it just means the girl was being nice. We learn this because we have gone through many cases where it seemed like the girl was flirting, and we make our interest known, and the girl turns around and says exactly that. "Oh I was just being friendly" "you're like a brother to me"

That shit is SOUL CRUSHING. and we learn very quickly to never ever make that mistake again.

So take it from me, he has already let it slip that he likes you when he was drunk and less in control of his inhibitions. So he likes you. But he's terrified that you're just being nice. Show him that you aren't. Show him that you mean it.

Send him some nudes or offer a bj or something lol. whatever level of affection your comfortable with. give it to him and see how he responds.

he thinks you're cute. but that doesn't necessarily mean he likes-likes you (he could, but he also couldn't).
he didn't say anything because he ran out of comebacks/couldn't keep up the banter. simple as that. (happens to me all the time)
ps i'm really disappointed in all the pretentious responses you're getting to your question. pay them no mind. I think they're all just mad they don't have anyone to flirt with.

This kind of conversation is more the one some 13-15 year old teenagers would have but less grown adults.

He does seem jealous but his behavior is the one of a brat that needs a good spanking. He probably likes you otherwise he would not react so childishly. He reminds me of the type of kid that would say "my daddy is stronger than yours".

However, such kind of behavior is also the sign of a weak character and lack of personality. I see him as the follower type of person that will agree to whatever others will say or tell him to say.

Silence can be frustrating! It doesn't necessarily mean he doesn't like you. Guys can be bad at communicating sometimes. Maybe he's busy, overthinking things, or just not sure how to respond. The best thing to do is send a casual message to see how he's doing. If he keeps giving you the silent treatment, then you might want to reconsider how interested he really is.
