Is my boss to scared to say it?

I want to improve at work and asked for feedback. my boss said he has thought about it and has nothing critical to say and im performing well.

We are fairly close (37 M, 32F) and I've always said i just want us to be honest with each other, which he agrees with.

he's very open but i kind of feel this is just rubbish and there is always something to improve on. Is he just too scared to actually tell me? I want to push more but dont want to seem annoying.

See how you jumped to 37 M and 32 F. Like you jumped straight to that. So as a male boss, you have to be very careful about the things you say, good or bad. Because people will jump straight to 37 M and 32 F immediately when it's something they do not want to hear, or they think there is more to it than just professional conversation.

So yeah, there is always something to improve upon... but at the same time if you are meeting the standard and he is satisfied with your work performance... there is no need to say more or less.

Why would he be afraid to? Makes no sense.

Afraid of hurting my feelings with negitive feedback. Makes perfect sense as not everyone is comfortable doing that

But if he is a boss he has to give feedback, it's a requirement. Positive or negative doesn't matter.
