Im really not proud of it but I used to have an obsessive crush on a guy from college that I cyberstalked heavily and he found out. Years later I saw him again in a lecture where he tried to stare me down from afar for 10 seconds but I ignored it. He also told his friend about me and both of them would watch me from the corner of their eye to catch me looking but I ignored him every time to not make him feel uncomfortable and also because I lost interest in him.
A year after that I saw him flirting with a girl that he had a thing with and couldn’t help smiling to myself. He noticed this and stared at me on purpose the next day from afar which I ignored again. Why would he do that if he is scared of me and doesn’t want to get to know me? I feel like he talked shit about me to this girl he flirted with because she gives me dirty looks

Well first of all why would he get to know you when you ignore him. That's not clear signs of communication. It's confusing & you're giving off vibes that you don't want to be approached. You're playing games.
