So I met this guy and we have been talking a lot. He is a great guy and seems to be what I am looking for. During our conversations sex did up and we agreed we both have a high sex drive but I explained I am not looking for a hookup and he agreed he is looking for a girlfriend. We went on a date, we talked for hours while having a few drinks. I felt an instant connection with him and the conversation went so easy. He invited me back to his apartment to watch a movie, he asked if I was staying and not to worry he wasn't trying to get in my pants. I respectfully declined the offer. we started to cuddle a bit and needless to say one thing led to another. Before we actually started I explained I don't want to come off easy and I don't ever do this. He said it was never the plan and he wouldn't think that of me. After we talked for another hour and I left. He hugged me bye and actually the hole night we didn't even kiss :/. He texted me after I got home said he had a lot of fun and he felt we had a great talk. I said I had a great and I don't him to have the wrong impression of me Because I don't ever do that. He said no don't worry about that at all. We talked some more and that was it. I haven't heard from him yet today and not sure if I should talk first or if this clearly was just a hook up unfortunately. I know I messed up but I feel there is a possibility he may be interested or I ruined it agh. I'm horrible at reading signs so any advice is appreciated. Also I am 24 and he's 29 if that matters.
No, you didn't mess anything up.
no, it wasn't just a hookup.
He was interested in dating.
He had a good date. He's probably STILL interested in dating. But having sex doesn't mean you're a couple either. He texted you after, he's probably trying NOT to act like you're magically a couple now. I'd guess he'll behave just as he would have if you hadn't slept with him.
