If a woman tries to seek your approval (when it shouldn't matter) can that be an indication of attraction?

I know a woman a little who is a fair bit younger than me and I have thought for a while that she has been showing some signs of interest in me but am not certain.

I was talking with her today and noticed on several occasions that she seemed to be seeking my approval for her thoughts/actions. I noticed she kept adding to her explanations extra details in order to try and make a better case. She finished off just before I left mentioning how she was having her girl friends round tonight for a party. Then, almost without a pause, she went on to tell me that it was because she was 25 last week and hadn't had a get together before now and she didn't make a habit of it. To be honest, there is no reason why what I think should matter to her and I have never noticed her trying to seek the approval of others before now.

Is the seeking of approval sometimes an indication of interest? The fact that she cares what someone she doesn't know well thinks of her must be an indication of something but what?
