Guy friend always talks about other girls?

Ok, so me and my guy friend are pretty close. We've known each other for a months now. We literally talk about everything. One of the main things being about girls..bleh so every time me and my guy friend talk, he always has to mention how cute a girl is, or him hanging out with a few girls at his house during the summer, and so forth. Beware I do like him. So Today we were talking at school and he kept looking at these chicks so I tell him to go talk to them, they were cute. And he was like nah and I left it like that. we were talking and then he pulls out his phone which is a screen saver with him and two girls with bikinis. We were joking about it and I asked him what it was and he was laughing and saying nothing. I kind of feel like he took it out on purpose to see if I would notice. So I asked to see his phone, and I'm like, so these are the type of girls you like and he's like yep, but I like all types. Anywho, he stated that he wants a girlfriend. BUT I'm JUST SO f***ING CONFUSED! Like seriously, I like him but I don't know if he feel the same way. He's constantly talking about other girl and I'm not sure if he wants to make me jealous or see my reaction!? Sometimes when he mentions a hot girl I go with it and say that she is(whoever it is) is hot . Is it because I'm not showing interest? Maybe it comes off I don't like him? ;o I'm confused as hell

If you like him, you do not make suggestions to make it seem like you're okay with these things he's been saying about other girls and how casually he goes on about them to you. If you show discomfort about it he'll get the point and there won't be so much of a game going on here.

He has a problem, he needs to stop obsessing over this girl topic.

You don't have to outright say you like him, just make sure your feelings add up with your words and actions towards him in general so that he will get the point.

He is trying to hint that he likes you. Just try flirting with him and stuff like that.

Simple answer: he wants to be more that your friend...he's hinting that he wants to date you and wants you to be serious about it. He could just be too shy to come out and ask for a date. If you have any feelings for him, then ask him out.
