How many guys are able to cook on here?

How many people on here can really cook meals? Not prepackaged foods.

I'm a pretty good cook.

I can go from garden and barnyard to china and crystal.

Yesterday I smoked a fresh ham on the boat. Scored the skin and put on a good spice rub from my favorite local BBQ joint, threw in some oak chips and spent 4 hours smelling the thing go before it was ready.

While that was going I made a killer batch of fresh Gazpachio so I'd have something to cut the richness of the BBQ. While I was at the market I snagged a Jackfruit (produce, not a verb) and turned it and some nanners into a smoothie. I don't think I cooked anything else Sunday.

It turned out surprisingly well considering it was a stovetop smoker on a hot plate. (There's only so much room on the boat. :-)

Yeah its a shame that people today can not really cook for themselves and that fast food is now almost like a family staple. I'm thankful to have grown up in a home full of fresh food and cooking that is almost around the clock. learning family traditions and recipes from both my grand mother and father. we forget how important it is to cook because we forget that when we cook for our family's it is about our love in who we are and for one another.

the sad part is that its the same for women just as much as it is for men. there are so few women besides the ones in my family that i know who can really cook.

I agree it is very sad that so many people (both girls and boys) can't cook. I was also raised in a family where we all are able to cook.

I ate it yesterday before i hadn't eaten fast food for like 3 months. its odd for me to think that some family's live off of it every day except maybe holidays.

i can cook and i can bake. i loving buying kitchen tools/equipment. i'm not a good cook though cause i'm just good on following instructions. i'm not the type who can just experiment like i can just come up with an idea to make my food taste better.

Yes. I can cook basic stuff. Not too complicated stuff though (the ones that take a very long time to cook/prepare).

Or rice with boiled veggies and raw salad veggies and unsweetened yogurt. ^_^

I can do some basic stuff I had to learn when my divorce was getting close. but overall I am horrible at it. I can do:
meatloaf, lasagna, taco's, spaghetti, homemade pierogi, hamburgers and hotdogs, pancakes or french toast, egg sandwhiches, a few minor other things

I'll cook pretty much anything given the recipe. Love grilling just about anything, Italian and pasta dishes are a fave of mine (stuffed shells, chicken parmagiana, etc)

Like making new desserts, appeteizers (bacon wrapped scallops are delicious but tedious)

I can cook burgers, hamburger helper, and most ways you can cook an egg.
I haven't cooked a chicken before or even baked a cake although I don't think making a cake would be out of my reach.
I would love to learn how to cook a lasagna some day.

I'm no celebrity chef or anything, but I can cook 15-20 full meals from scratch, and I can also do some baking. What I really am though is a grill-master. I do a lot of BBQing, and I get lots of compliments on it.

I can cook a lot of stuff. In fact, I often make dinner, because healthy food is important to me and I know that if I make it myself I know what's in it. I'm talking scratch food, not some premade food you just heat up. I'm only a teenager though.

Yeah, I always follow recipes, but I find the best recipes to use. I don't have enough confidence in my abilities in the kitchen to just wing it, so once I start feeling like I've gotten a recipe down, I'll start doing some small experiments with it.

I can cook pretty well when I want to and I'm pretty damn good on a grill.

Problem is, I usually don't feel like cooking. My job leaves me exhausted so I just want something quick so I can sit and relax.

I'm a pretty balling cook. I make most things completely from scratch as much as possible. I do a lot of Asian cuisinr right now. The only thing I still can't get down right is stir frying vegetables. I suck at that.
