Is there actually a cure for cancer and other illnesses?

I'm of the opinion that there is a cure for cancer and hundreds of other diseases and illnesses. We donate our time and money to American Cancer Society (AKA animal torture) and any other health organization with the word American at the beginning.

What motivation do these people have for finding a cure? Everyone is going to die someday. If you cure them of these ailments they won't need medication and treatments. Hence you stop giving them money. No business would agree to do something that's going to stop the dough from rolling in. Also with as much as we pay for insurance which then the medical world over charges the insurance companies. If you were paying out of pocket it would be less.

This is such a racket and of course no one is going to find a cure at least not in a hurry. Keep finding ways to stop the pain or keep you living a little longer so that you keep paying.

Understanding the importance of cures for diseases like Cancer, Gaucher Disease, Niemann-Pick Disease, Systemic Lupus, etc., is difficult to do unless you or a family member is enduring or has endured such an illness. It becomes about quality of life and ensuring the ability to experience accomplishment of your dreams. There's a difference between death consistent with the life cycle and Darwinian evolution and death resulting from other, untimely factor (s). Medicine is a complex field, especially when you deal with illnesses that fall under the genetic or epigenetic umbrella (such as cancers). Advocacy organizations for various illnesses, such as the ACS, NNPDF, NTSAD, LFA, UMDF tend to be comprised of disease sufferers, survivors, families, advocates and medical professionals focused on providing emotional support, developing treatments, voicing the needs of the community in political forums and ultimately finding cures. Looking at this from a solely financial perspective will get you nowhere in understanding the goals of such organizations and the multifaceted benefits that come from the existence of such organizations.

There are many different forms of cancer, and I believe there are some of them that have cures, that they don't let people have. Some natural sources have been found to reverse some types of cancer, but they can't be given a patent since they are not man made. So these are never go through all the requirements that are necessary in order for people to receive such treatment. One example that comes to mind was a type of scorpion venom was proven to help with certain types of brain tumors. They can't patent the venom, so they instead started work on trying to find a man made chemical that would do the same thing. Companies exist to make money, and not to help people.

The world is driven by money, dear, think of the scenario that makes the most money, that's the answer. Is there more money in curing someone or treating them for years? That's for the lower class, but the upper class who can offer more money 'by' living, well...

One side of my family is powerful and wealthy, my grandfather is a judge and works with the Mafia in Vegas, his wife got breast cancer three times, and three times she was just fine. Hell she looks beautiful still as old she was, once Miss Vegas. While the other side of my family is poor and Irish wash born, the women of that side who eventually developed breast cancer have died, leaving their families in debt for "treatments".

That's just from an inside point of view.

And though we all may die someday, that's the best reason to cure and develop quality of life. Live what little life you can in this small window of opportunity to exist and feel and know.

I don't know. I think it's pretty evil if there is and no one is saying anything. I've heard so many scenarios regarding this issue. I think the worse one was not wanting to "overpopulate" the world. WTF as you said, we're all gonna die someday.

Some types of cancer can be treat and cured. For example superficial basal cell carcinoma is treated with Imiquimod cream to act as the danger signal for the immune system which then ramps up it's war on the cells leading to and eventual recovery. When it comes to leukemia

this seems to working in clinical trials. The foreign white blood cells attack the cancer cells and also act as a danger signal to your own immune system to increase activity in an area. Then the mismatch on the transplant causes the foreign cells to die, but then your own immune system is ramped up to bring about a recovery. An engineered strain of HIV was used for modified T cell treatment of Emily Whitehead which lead to complete remission. There are a bunch of other therapies that work in specific cases, but cancer isn't just one condition that can be complete cured with one secret medicine no matter what type you get.

I don't know if you'll understand anything I've said or will say, but I guess I should probably add that it is easy to find chemicals that will kill cancer cells. You'll see all kinds of articles claiming that some drug was kept from the public because they don't want to cure cancer. That's just someone blowing smoke up your ass. The reality is, that most of the chemicals that will kill cancer cells that are discovered by chemists will also kill all your healthy cells as well. The chemist is all like OHHH look at me I killed 100% of the cancer cells with this drug I created. What he doesn't tell you is OMG if that was actually used systemically on a patient they'd die within hours. That's why those chemicals never make it to market, they kill healthy cells as well... Those sort of scientists generally promote those chemicals because they want to get a grant for more research and if it looks like they are on to something, then some patsy will give them another 10 million to keep their

well its kind of like the sock industry, socks always get holes in them so that we have to go and buy more. If the socks r too strong n never rip then sokc businesses close. If socks r too week then people would say the hell with it!!! n walk barefoot or whatever.

If u give people a cure to certain diseases many people will act irresponsibly, n they would not fear consequences. At the end of the day, u will always have people on both sides. People who r considered the most ruthless can become kind and caring when someone close to them is affected by a certain disease. Their view on money and life changes.

If cures had been found for hundereds of diseases/cancers and the corporations didn't want the news to get out then research scientists would be dropping like flies because a large proportion of them aren't in it for the money (research is SHITE pay) so they'd try their best to spread the cure against the corporations wishes.

Yes, there is more money in a treatment than a one-off cure. But there is still shittonnes of money in cures. If corporations never wanted to release cures then why do cures exist for anything? Let me guess, there's a 'good' group of corpoations fighting against the 'evil' group for the betterment of humanity.

Not sure about cancer but there is DRACO that was developed at MIT that showed promise back in 2011 but couldn't get funding.
