Any mental exercises I could do or tips?
Anyone got any mental exercises for paranoia that'll help?

I have the same problem. I do see a shrink, we just talk about feelings and stuff. It helps but the best way to handle panic in the moment is to let yourself feel it. Don't try to repress it. But don't give it the power to overwhelm you. If that makes sense.
When you get paranoid, turn on the lights and the tv. I get the feeling that someones in the house so I'll turn on all the lights and look around. Of course no one is there but you have to prove it to yourself.
Breath in for 4 seconds and breath out for 4 seconds.
Do that for 5 minutes 5 times a week. It helps reset your body's autonomic nervous system which will help reduce the anxiety and paranoia.
The only one I could give you is, when you have this cramped feeling of being afraid, ask yourself the question "why?"... and try to judge for yourself if it's just a question of not being 100% sure or having serious reasons to be worried?
This may give you some comfort since you'll gain a feel for yourself "okay, this is just my problem kicking in" or "damn I'm not just afraid, something is just not right here"!
Take care and good luck in Germany :-)

Do what any paranoid person should do. Become a security specialist.
I'm a somewhat paranoid person as well. Not to the point where I can't function, but I understand having the most locks possible on a door. I don't trust windows very much, because that's just an easy way in, and wood and drywall walls are not going to keep anything out. I need a concrete and steel structure with a door that resembles a bank vault door.
You Complain About paranoia. ... yet that's your profile pic...
On a more serious note, you could try meditation, but I've never been to a shrink
It was a joke because your aviation is creepy. You're not complaining and there's nothing wrong with it. That's why I said on a more serious note.
I know, it always makes me giggle.
