Are energy drinks bad?

Usually I'm quite a health freak but I've been drinking a lot of those these days.
With exams coming up, work, studying and working out is a lot to balance and they just kinda help.

I've looked into it and it seems like most risks are associated with high blood pressure due to the high dose of caffeine and sugar. I have naturally very low blood pressure and I drink the sugar free version so I'm not really worried about that.
And the one I drink contains 75 mg caffeine per serving, roughly the same as in black coffee or tea. So how exactly would the energy drink be worse than coffee?
