My late maternal grandma was Scots she made some good Hot Cocoa on top of the stove she handed her recipe down to me oh it's good i got buy the stuff to make some it's been so long:-) :P <3
@JustinCaseUDontKnow you're lucky. I've never made hot cocoa anywhere but the microwave, partially because my mom still thinks I'm a toddler and won't let me make anything on the stove
But well, you're old enough to be on here, surely you can browse for a recipe somewhere? You just have to be careful not to let the milk boil over when you heat it up on the stove and not to burn yourself.
@JustinCaseUDontKnow a bit random, but is that a secret recipe?^^;;
@JustinCaseUDontKnow Oh yes, I would love to have it, if you don't mind. I've always heard great things about Hot Cocoa from there =D
@nert73 Sorry. I don't know how old you are, but guess you could ask your mom to make it for you while you watch then? Or your grandmother or other adult. Then you could try making it by yourself while they watch and after getting used to it and gaining their trust anytime you wanted.

I rarely use my microwave. I actually know how to cook on a stove.
I haven't owned a microwave in over two years, I'd be fine.
Why would I die? As long as I have a cast iron skillet, I can cook over a fire (fireplace or fire pit of some sort) or on the oven, if they existed.
If microwaves disappeared, I'd just keep cooking on a stove. I only use microwaves for reheating food anyways.
I wouldn't die, I try to stay away from them as much as possible.
Fact: 20% (at most) of my meals are instant or microwaved. We didn't have a microwave for years, and still now we barely every use it.
Nope. I can't stand using a microwave. I actually enjoy cooking all my meals.
My heart is a miniture microwave oven id die instantly
I'd be fine. I would really miss hot cocoa, though
You'd give up on it because it takes longer to make it the traditional way?
@dipta what if maybe I don't know the traditional way because my parents are too lazy to know?
