How to get rid of/ avoid bad scars from a dog bite?

It's in the middle of my thigh, happened yesterday. It needed stitches and I feel like my legs are ruined... Any home remodies to prevent / get rid of scars? :(

I had scissors get stuck in my leg a few years ago and got stitches for that too. You can barely see the scar now but I was told it depends how deep the cut is. Mine was pretty deep and like I said, its almost gone. Stitches help it heal faster and will reduce the scar. Time is probably the best thing but you can buy some creams to help it go away quicker. here's a link for remedies though:

If the wound was so deep that it needed stitches it will probably leave a mark, but the good news is that with time it will get smaller and smaller. I've had stitches on my knee and I hardly notice it now.
