I personally feel I don't have an eating disorder but I'd like to know if socially eating is a disorder? I only eat when other people are around. when I'm alone and I get hungry I always just talk myself out of eating or I take a nap. the one time recently I gave into eating alone I felt so sick and EXTREMELY disgusting inside. I have never thrown up my food before but when I eat if no ones around I'll constantly gag Nd It's really just not a good feeling. I don't understand why I'm like this or how to cHange? I also don't understand when I'm with someone else an I eat I dnt feel guilty or sick or anything. Why do I feel this way about eating? How can I change to normal eating?
I would think that that's not normal and it may be a disorder. Is it because you think you're too fat to be eating when you're hungry?
I think in order to change it you would have to stop those negative thoughts. Whenever they creep into your mind, simply tell yourself that it's OKAY (and healthy) to eat when you're hungry. Counter with a positive. Also, eat things that you enjoy eating (in appropriate portions). Sometimes food that tastes delicious can't make you feel like crap when you're eating it.
