If you're trying to lose weight focus on cardio. Try changing the intensity I prefer 1 minute sprints with 3 minute walk period. Using weights focus on form and reps more than the weight. When many people start they try to go for to much weight and get injured. You're in the gym to better yourself not to compete with the other people in the gym. Take it easy and light to start with to condition yourself. You pull a muscle and you'll be out for weeks and have to start again. Always warm up properly to avoid injury. Running is good for fat burning but don't jog, it's bad for the joints. Got to get a decent pace going even if you don't last long. Your stamina grows after time and before you know it you'll be flying down the road and be able to keep it up for miles
