Cheap healthy foods for a university student? anyone?

So.. here's the deal: I am fairly active, do sports, train in the gym and so on.. and i have been able to maintain a good diet both for bulking and cutting seasons.
BUT.. in between next month and the end of the year i'll have to find myself a place to live by myself, since my parents will throw me out by then ^^ (no problems with that :D )

Since I'll be living on my own or with a group of people I will have to work to get money whilst studying..
SO.. do you guys have tips on what to buy to be able to maintain a healthy lifestyle whilst having low money income?

What has worked for you guys?

I see you are from germany, I recommend shopping at aldi more, eating together with friends (saves money), and just in general look at promotions. Fruits and veggies are not that expensive right? Just look at the promotions and buy that.

Specific stuff: Eggs (cheap) and look at promotions for chicken and buy a lot then. Oh and also, I buy sometimes kgs of potatoes and rice, they are fairly cheap and can be used in lots of recipes.

If you buy in larger sizes, price differences may matter. Like 300 gr. of chicken and 1 kg of chicken, just compare and see what is cheapest per gr. Same for apples and other fruits and meats. Also meat from the freezersection in the supermarket is often cheaper.

If you have to much of some meat/veggies, just store it in the freezer or prep your meals before and store them in the fridge. Storing stuff is a big timesaver/moneysaver. I always have either rice, pasta or potatoes in my student home and some vegetables and meat in the freezer.

Just out of curiosity, in which city do you go to study?

1 go to the Aldi and the Lidl.
2. Eat season fruit and vegetables, they're most of the time on sale if it's the right season.
3. Chicken is quite cheap instead of beef or something
4. Cheap brands or no brands at all are not any worse
5. If something is on sale and it doesn't expire fast, don't be afraid to storage a bit.

True, last time I had German class was 4 years ago and I sucked at it. Now I only have to speak German to tourists sometimes, but if you know the words rechts, link and gerade aus, you come a long way.

Well many German tourists can't speak English and also are not willing to try, since I live in a touristic place crowded by germans in the summer. Most people speak fluently german because of the tourists and expect from everyone to soeak German. I'm just not very good at languages...

can't speak english? it's a language used almost globally and we are tought English in school up to our final exams D: ... those are some ignorant representatives of my country i feel ashamed of

Because of these people I always had a image that Germans can't speak English . Really, 99% of the Germans here can maybe speak 2 words of English and that's it. Maybe it's because most tourists are pretty old. I mean, going on vacation to neighbor land just for the beach is also not very exciting.

YES and Germans here are known to dig holes in the beaches here. If you see a lot of holes at the beach, it's high season for the Germans.

Fruits and vegetables are pretty inexpensive at stores like Aldi. Don't go for grains in refined products like nut bars and all that stuff. Way too overpriced and actually not healthy. Maybe buy milk in bulk if you can stomach it? Milk is actually not that good for you, try yoghurt instead. Tubs of yoghurt from the lowest shelf is cheap. Maybe buy a bag of crunchy granola too for something in the yoghurt.

Try looking on instagram. They have many ideas for quick, cheap, and healthy foods that you can eat. If there will be a sprouts close by then you should be good to go.
