Any remedies that work?

I have a sore throat and a bit of a cold. Does anyone know any proven remedies that get rid of sore throat. I need to beat this sickness fast before it worsens. I really don't wanna take time off work.

Eat honey :)
Before going to bed:
Boil a cup of milk (not a big one) with honey (not too much just what is needed) then drink while it is still hot (don't burn yourself of course) it and sleep (don't drink water after it even if you feel like you want it)
Or
Take a cup of lemon juice and boil it with some honey (not too much as the previous one) then drink it while it is still warm then sleep
Pay attention to not burn yourself while drinking it but it must not be cold the heat will heal your throat :) and don't drink water after it so some of it will stay in your throat and the honey will do his work ;)

bee propolis does wonders! echinacea is really good. my mother makes something like a potion lolred/brown colour no joke. i think it consists of mountain tea, thyme, sage, sambuca. all gathered by me lol

try honey tea. honey seems to do the trick. You can also take over the counter medicine too
