also expect to gain weight if you are looking to develop muscle

Keep in mind that muscle weighs more than fat, so if you're gaining muscle and losing little fat your weight will go up, but you'll still be losing fat..
dude lifting weights won't lose weight you will gain muscle weight you need to do workouts like swimming and running to lose weight

Well, they say lifting weight burns calories, so yea, Id say youd lose the weight but youd gain muscle too!
Having muscles can help burn off fat easier, but main focus should be your diet.
