Can I lose weight just by lifting weights?

I gained about 7-10 pounds over the summer and I was wondering if I could just do pure weight training to lose those pounds, my diet isn't bad so I won't include it as a factor to the question, please help

I wanna lose some fat, I don't have a lot so it shouldn't be too tough, and I only ask this cuz does weight training burn fat too, obviously not as much as cardio
