Should I stick to 3 meals, 2 snacks or eat every 3 hours, or just eat when hungry. Not too sure.
You must eat a lot and less. This sentence might sound tricky but it means, you have to have more meals per day but less food in them. It should not be only breakfast meal, noon meal and afternoon meal. You should have at least 7 meals in day but in those meals, except the main 3 ones, you need to eat less. For example between breakfast and noon, lets say you ate breakfast at 9.00 and noon mean at 12.00. Then at 10.30 you can eat an apple and a diet yoghurt. In basis you must eat less but more meals throughout the day and of course no fatty meals :D
I am not an inexperienced person. I was 116 kg and became 68 kg in 5 months. If i had the chance, i would post it here (before&after)

If you can find the difference between hungry and wanting food then eat whenever you're hungry. But it also depends if you want to put on weight as in muscle or just tone and shape... If so, you can't Eat too often or else you're going to gain a lot of muscle which some don't want
Eat when hungry but eat healthy.
And before eating drinking a cup of water. (In sips), to see whether you are really hungry or just thirsty.

I eat 3 meals and 3 snacks a day! Like for breakfast I have a protein shake and a fruit on the side! Then for lunch I'll have a piece of fish ( sushi) with salad or soup! And then I'll have an apple and peanut butter! For dinner I'll have chicken, rice, and a vegetable! For a snack I'll have something fattening like a cupcake! And then later on I'll have an orange and a shot of wheat grass
4 small meals per day.
